On a recent shopping trip to Catherine, a colorful new boutique in SoHo, Lisa Mayer enthusiastically scanned the racks of colorful capri pants, soft leather skirts and knit tops in funky Froot Loops shades.
Increasingly, fashionable urbanites are adding two new categories to their already divided wardrobes; uptown and downtown wear.
The rules for division are pretty simple. For uptown, dress conservatively; for downtown, the funkier the better: lots of color in a wider range of fabrics and cuts.
