The accountant for “The Bachelor” is being accused of bilking $600,000 in phony expenses and fake payroll charges.
A lawsuit filed in LA alleges Iain Anderson, described as the former lead production accountant for the dating show, requested large sums for petty cash then pocketed the money as well as draining bank accounts meant to cover expenses over holidays, when regular accounts were shut down.
“The Bachelor” films a lot at exotic locations, and cash is often needed to pay for last-minute expenses.
Court papers claim that Anderson was confronted with the financial discrepancies last year, and could not explain how show money ended up in his personal bank account.
No criminal charges appear to have been filed.
The popular dating show and its spinoff, “The Bachelorette,” are produced by AND Syndicated Productions, which filed the suit late last week.
