NOV.5 – Harlan Abramowitz put his friends to work when he planned to propose to Danielle Kay.As the lovebirds dined at one of their favorite restaurants,Abramowitz ‘s pals filled their apartment with 20 dozen roses in vases,sprinkled rose petals all over the floor and filled the sinks with petals and floating candles. “When I walked
in,he went down on one knee,” gushes Kay,an executive assistant at Oppenheimer.Kay and Abramowitz,an
accountant at Denis L.Abramowitz & Co.,wed at the Westmount Country Club in New Jersey in front of 210
guests.Their foodie-pleasing nuptials featured a cocktail hour with a raw bar, sushi bar,martinis,Asian treats and filet
mignon.

NOV.5 – “Our wedding was ridiculous, spectacular,” says Darren Kaplan,the vice president of new-business development at BSA Advertising. “The theme was autumn. You walked in,and it was like a country drive.The chuppah was 30 feet tall.The whole room smelled of fall.” Kaplan married Elizabeth Neustein,the clinical coordinator of the Child and Family Support Program at Mount Sinai Hospital, at the Yale Club.Their reception boasted 180 guests.Kaplan says his belief that Neustein was “the one ” got a celebrity endorsement as they were in a car on the
way to the airport in Rome and Elton John ‘s “The One ” came on the radio. “He was talking to me,” Kaplan says.Right after proposing,Kaplan took singing lessons and surprised everyone by performing the song. “I had lighters made that read,’Liz,You ‘re the One,’ and everyone held them up,” says Kaplan. “She was so surprised.”

NOV.12 – The hora and puffy wedding gowns are not always compatible. “I fell from the chair during the hora,and it wasn ‘t funny at the time!” says Jodi Elson,who works in marketing and licensing at 4Kids Entertainment, Inc.,with a laugh. “The chair was really high,but I landed on my feet.” All was fine,well,except for one corner of the
chair,which somehow managed to smack Elson ‘s face on the way down.She took it n stride though.Hubby Seth Everett Bogdanoff,a sportscaster for MLB radio, led Elson out of the room for a few minutes to catch her breath and ice her face,and kept guests from making any comments about the accident.But there were no lasting red marks,so the carefree bride moved on and enjoyed the rest of her reception – at the Rainbow Room with 260 guests.

about party capabilities,” says Shari Fineman,the associate creative director at ad agency Campbell Mithun,who tied the knot with Dr.Sanjai Sinha at the Museum of the City of New York. “It was nice – we had access to all the exhibits,” Fineman says.They were supposed to get hitched in front of a “pure-white wall ” – which is what it was two weeks before the nuptials. “Instead, there was this giant graphic and the name of the artist in very high letters,” says Fineman.So they put up a wall and rented a few palm trees for their Jewish-Hindi wedding, said in both Hebrew and Hindi by Rev.Laurie Sue Brockway and Rev.Vic Fuhrman.

“Everything was chocolate-brown and pink,” says the bride,,a financial-services consultant at McNamara Group. “I just stuck with those two colors.” Instead of a wedding cake,the couple served their 300 guests a chocolate-and pink-frosted cupcake tower.They also showed a video montage featuring all of their friends and family,and a nine-piece band that played “a lot of Irish music,” Archacki says.. “My husband is 110 percent Irish.”
