‘On the ‘X-Files,’ anything can happen. So, I don’t want to discount anything. Life is complicated.’
‘X-Files” Agent Dana Scully, played by Gillian Anderson, has had her share of alien encounters – but never with another woman.
“X-Files” producers have considered pairing Scully with Agent Monica Reyes, played by Annabeth Gish, in a lesbian storyline this season.
“We talked about it, but it’s the kind of baggage that we didn’t want to deal with this kind of character right now,” “X-Files” executive producer John Shiban told TV Guide Online.
“On the ‘X-Files,’ anything can happen,” he said. “So, I don’t want to discount anything. Life is complicated.”
Apparently, a hospital scene between Reyes and Scully had tongues wagging that perhaps Reyes was changing her sexual orientation – away from Doggett (Robert Patrick) and toward Scully.
There was no comment from Anderson, who has been vocal in her desire to leave “The X-Files” after this season, the show’s ninth on Fox.-
