YouTube announced its Most Watched Videos of 2009 on its official blog today.
The top video of 2009 by a very large margin with 120+ million views globally was Susan Boyle’s appearance on Britain’s Got Talent. The runner-up was “David After Dentist,” a video that features a boy in a drug-like haze after experiencing the after-effects of a dental procedure. That video was watched 37+ million times around the world. In third place was the “JK Wedding Entrance Dance” with 33+ million views.
YouTube also broke down its Fastest Rising search terms by month. For example, in February 2009 ‘Christian Bale’ was the most searched term as his audio tirade went viral on the web. Tiger Woods, whose recent troubles have fueled an insatiable appetite for information about him on the web, is the current leader for December.
