"}},{"type":"paragraph","data":{"text":"A 23-year-old MLB prospect from Yonkers is dead after being shot in the head and torso nearly three weeks ago, the Oakland A’s announced Thursday.
\n Michael Nolan was with friends at a Burger King in Yonkers on Sept. 18, when five or six shots were fired at their car, according to The Journal News.
\n Nolan had been hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he was placed in a medically induced coma, News 12 Westchester reported.
\n The family confirmed to the Journal News that Dolan was brain dead."}},{"type":"paragraph","data":{"text":"“We’ll just go back down there and sit and wait until the very end and then take each hour as it comes,” said Donna Nolan, Michael’s mother.
\n The A’s put out a statement on Twitter mourning the 6-foot, 7-inch Nolan, a Saunders High School graduate drafted in the 18th round of the 2014 draft.
\n “On behalf of the entire A’s organization I send my deepest condolences to Donna and Jimmy Nolan,” the statement read. “Michael will always be a member of the A’s family and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends for their tragic loss.”
