INDIANAPOLIS – It’s all good.

There could not be a better time for this Super Week for the Knicks – Lakers, Cavaliers and Celtics at the Garden. The Garden will be frenzied Monday night when the purple and gold strut their stuff, possibly without burgeoning center Andrew Bynum, whom the wires are reporting sprained his knee tonight in Memphis.

Tonight, the Knicks rocked the Pacers, who had beaten them five straight times, who had won seven straight home games. The Knicks have won six of seven, 8 of 11, are playing their best basketball since Isiah Thomas took over midstream in 2003-2004 and the Knicks leapt into the playoffs.

They played with laser focus tonight, the offense hummed with precision. They outhustled the Pacers at every turn. Al Harrington, whose got lots of relatives in Indiana, was a menace, driving to the hoop with force and making his perimeter bombs. They shared the ball with the unselfishness that makes Mike D’Antoni’s “Seven Seconds or Less” offense so dangerous.

Donnie Walsh was in the house. It was a proud night for him, back at his hold stomping grounds, with his Knicks dominating Larry Bird’s Pacers. Indiana radio legend George Montgomery said he saw Harrington point toward Walsh in the stands after making a trey.

Harrington said afterward he was just glad to put a smile on Donnie’s face. They are 21-25 – two wins away from last season’s win total. A year ago today, we were about to come back from an 0-5 West Coast trip, 10 games out of the eighth seed. I remember the sinking feeling coming back to New York, with 2½ months left to the season, the games no longer mattering.

It is different now. Bring on the Lakers!
