Milwaukee Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe agreed on Friday to a four-year, $70 million extension, according to ESPN.com.

He was due to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The extension will expire after the 2022-23 season.

The Phoenix Suns, who had signed Bledsoe to a five-year $70 million deal in 2014, traded the 29-year-old to Milwaukee early last season.

Bledsoe is averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds while shooting a career-best 49.2 percent from the field in 29.2 minutes per game.

The team’s fourth-leading scorer, Bledsoe has helped Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks to the best record in the NBA. They will now be able to focus on re-signing Khris Middleton, whose contract expires this summer.

Milwaukee traded for Nikola Mirotic at the deadline and will sign Pau Gasol, who the San Antonio Spurs bought out on Friday.
