As expected, Carmelo Anthony has won Eastern Conference Player of the Week, following up J.R. Smith’s honor from last week.
It’s the first time in franchise history two different Knicks have won the Player of the Week awards back-to-back.
Anthony led the Knicks to a 4-0 week that extended the Knicks winning streak to 12. He averaged a league-best 41.8 points and became just the second Knick to tally 40-or-more points in three consecutive outings. Anthony tied Hall-of-Famer Bernard King’s mark.
Anthony tied his career high with 50 points in South Beach on April 2. He posted back-to-back double-doubles to close the week in wins over the Bucks and Oklahoma City.
