Lamar Odom can add “peacekeeper” to his résumé.
The former Laker defused an argument between then-Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant and Master P that could have gotten ugly.
“I got into it with Kobe before, at the Lakers facility,” the rapper told “The Red Pill with Van Lathan” podcast on Tuesday. “Lamar Odom kind of cooled it off.”
Despite bringing the incident up, Master P was extremely vague about whatever went down, and details were rather scarce.
“It was a little bit after [I was playing at the Staples Center],” Master P said. “You know how Kobe is, the Lakers is his facility, so it was just one of those things. That’s his place.
“We had a couple words. I really don’t have that many words when it gets to that. … At that time, you know Kobe — everything ’bout the Lakers. We into the Lakers, we out here in L.A. … but you know, when things don’t go your way, you shut it down.”
Odom and Bryant were teammates on the Lakers from 2004-11.
Master P wasn’t forthcoming on what those words were, however, saying only, “It was just, you know, a lil’ small talk, you know what I’m saying?”
We’re actually not sure what he’s saying, but if only one man had to get between them, it sounds like Bryant may have shown a bit more restraint than he did when ex-Knick Chris Childs punched him.
