Prominent NBA coach, one of many victims of  Michael Jordan’s Bulls — right arena, wrong coach.

Mike Francesa was interviewing George Karl on Tuesday as part of Karl promoting his controversial memoir. The WFAN host asked Karl about losing to the Bulls in the NBA Finals, specifically about Jordan’s dagger stepback jumper in Game 6.

The only problem is Karl was the coach of the SuperSonics, who lost to Chicago in the 1996 NBA Finals, a series that ended in six games, but not on a last-minute Jordan shot.

The question would have been better directed at Jerry Sloan, the coach of the Jazz teams that lost to the Bulls the two following seasons — including 1998, when Jordan hit a push-off stepback jumper over Bryon Russell to finish off Utah in six games.
