NBA legend Jerry West suffered a medical scare at an exclusive Los Angeles country club and was hospitalized on Tuesday, but was released later in the day, according to TMZ Sports.

West, 78, was at the private club when the episode occurred, according to the website. One source said he collapsed, while another one said he fell. Paramedics came to help, and the Hall of Famer was transported to a nearby hospital.

The Hall of Famer is back home recovering, the website said.

West, who averaged 27 points and almost seven assists over the course of a 14-year career with the Lakers, is currently an executive board member for the Warriors.
