On the day of the lifting of the trade moratorium and two days before the 2020 NBA Draft, the Knicks have reopened their Tarrytown practice facility after it closed down last Tuesday because of three COVID-19 positives among team staffers.

Teams are permitted to conduct group workouts at their facilities of up to eight players in the leadup to the start of training camp on Dec. 1.

Under HIPAA laws, the Knicks did not announce the identities of those who tested positive but sources indicated it was not any players. The staffers were under quarantine and reportedly asymptomatic.

According to a source, the Knicks cancelled a workout with point guard Killian Hayes last week because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Two members of the coaching staff are over 60. Head coach Tom Thibodeau and assistant Mike Woodson are each 62.

The Knicks have the 8th, 27th and 38th picks in Wednesday’s draft. The Knicks normally congregate in a “war room” the night of the draft when they decide on their selections.

NBA free agency begins on Friday, though recruiting visits to facilities are likely going to be frowned upon because of the second wave of coronavirus attacking the country.
