Roy Rogers, the assistant coach who worked so diligently with the Nets’ big men, including center Brook Lopez, is returning to coach Lawrence Frank’s staff. Rogers had an offer to join Rutgers, also as an assistant.

“I’m really glad Roy is coming back,” Frank said. “He did a great job for us last season and he has a terrific upside as a coach.”

The Nets still are looking for a replacement for Brian Hill, who has joined John Kuester’s staff in Detroit.
