The Nets are officially in the point guard market after waiving last season’s starter Jarrett Jack.

Jack had a salary of $6.3 million for next season, but the Nets had until Thursday night to waive him and owe him only $500,000. The team will stretch that sum over three years to save every possible penny of cap room.

They’ll be searching for Jack’s replacement when free agency starts at 12:01 a.m. Friday. Memphis’ Mike Conley, the top point guard on the market, appears out of reach, being pursued by the likes of San Antonio and Dallas.

Next in line are Charlotte’s Jeremy Lin, Sacramento’s Rajon Rondo and Orlando’s Brandon Jennings.

Brooklyn also is closing in on a deal for Spain’s Sergio Rodriguez, a four-year NBA backup (including with the Knicks) who was Euroleague MVP in 2014 and won the Euroleague title last year.
