The teenage niece of NBA great Reggie Miller had gone missing, and the Basketball Hall of Famer appealed to the public Monday night for any help in finding her.

The worried Indiana Pacers star sent out a tweet saying, “My niece Nikki Miller is missing,” along with a missing poster with an image of the 16-year-old girl — who was found safely a few hours after the worried message went out.

According to a missing poster in Miller’s tweet, Nikki vanished from her Yorba Linda, Calif., home Monday. Her family called cops after her room was found empty at 7:17 a.m., the LA Times reported.

From the start, cops tried to down play the situation to the paper, saying the teen likely ran away and they were not treating the case as an abduction.

“As with most teenagers, when they get hungry or run out of money, they want to come home,” Lt. John Roche said.
