How do you say “controversial” in Greek?
Former Louisville coach Rick Pitino has found his next coaching job as he is finalizing a deal with the EuroLeague’s Panathinaikos, one of Greece’s top basketball clubs, according to ESPN.com.
Pitino was fired by Louisville before last season for his alleged role in paying recruit Brian Bowen $100,000 to attend the university. Pitino also brought shame to the school when a former assistant was accused of running sex and stripper parties for recruits between 2010-14.
Pitino’s goal is to land a job in the NBA, and any chance to accomplish it will start an ocean away.
Pitino, 66, won two national titles, in 1996 with Kentucky and 2013 with Louisville, though the latter one has been vacated over the party findings.
