The Suns managed to complete a trade without any Brooks at all.
A day after a three-way deal between Phoenix, Memphis and Washington fell apart over confusion of whether the Suns were receiving MarShon or Dillon Brooks, Phoenix cut out the middle man and made a more traditional trade with the Wizards.
Former Knick Trevor Ariza will be heading to Washington as it tries to salvage something of this season, and Austin Rivers and Kelly Oubre will be heading to the Suns, according to ESPN.
Ariza, who also had been linked to the Lakers, was the dreadful Suns’ top trade chip. He was officially able to be dealt Saturday after enough time past since he signed a one-year, $15 million deal this offseason.
Washington entered this season with playoff hopes and beyond, but it has been a rough, 11-18 start to the season. The 33-year-old Ariza will bring another veteran presence to the Wizards, and he’s averaging 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this year.
