Antonio Brown said it was “surreal” to be back on an NFL practice field Wednesday, calling his latest chance with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “a blessing” after serving an eight-game suspension to open this season.

The seven-time Pro Bowl receiver also said he hopes to get his career “back on track” beginning with Sunday night’s game against New Orleans, his first NFL appearance since playing one game in Sept. 2019 with Brady and the New England Patriots.

“I’ve been spending a lot of time, working on myself, being resilient,” Brown said, according to NBC’s Pro Football Talk. “Even when times got hard, staying in shape, not listening to the naysayers, good people around me to stay encouraged. I tried to check every box to make sure I was ready to go.”

The 32-year-old Brown was suspended in July for eight games for multiple violations of the league’s personal-conduct policy. He faces a sexual assault civil lawsuit filed against him former trainer Britney Taylor, which is scheduled to go to trial in December, and was also accused of sexual misconduct in a separate incident.

“I just feel like I’m a better person. I wouldn’t say I’m a different person, but I’m a better person,” Brown said.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers star also has been staying with Brady in the Tampa area. He credited the 43-year-old quarterback with setting him up with life coach Tony Robbins and helping him make arrangements for other mental health resources.

“He’s been a great asset for me,” Brown said of Robbins. “I really thank Tony Robbins and TB12 for hooking me up with great people that could get alignment with my purpose and help me to see the light, regardless of my future.

“Tom is my boy. One of the greatest leaders to be around. He’s encouraging, always inspiring. He’s the greatest quarterback of all time.”
