Four days after claiming he was done playing in the NFL, Antonio Brown has reversed course.
“I’m still the best why stop now,” Brown, who was released from the Raiders and the Patriots over the course of less than a month, wrote on Twitter Thursday.
He tweeted seven minutes later, “The game need me I’m like test answers.” That was after responding to someone who said Brown should try to play with four NFL teams this year, to which Brown replied, “Big 4X.”
It’s been a tumultuous September for Brown, who was accused of rape in a lawsuit filed by his former trainer Britney Taylor. The Patriots signed Brown the same day the Raiders released him after a public falling out with Oakland GM Mike Mayock, only for the Pats to dismiss him once another woman accused Brown of sexual harassment followed by alleged intimidating text messages Brown sent the second accuser.
The 31-year-old wide receiver is expected to file a grievance against the Patriots, who withheld the first $5 million of his $9 million signing bonus that was detailed in his contract as the NFL investigates the accusations against Brown.
Brown has made sure to update his social media since the seven-time Pro Bowler was released by New England, even tossing shade at Patriots owner Robert Kraft in a tweet — which has since been deleted — about Kraft being charged with soliciting prostitution. Brown also let his fans know he was going back to school, posting a picture of his four-class schedule at Central Michigan University.
