Even NFLers get starstruck.
Bengals running back Joe Mixon was reportedly seen “clutching” a Tom Brady jersey in the locker room, days after he met the Patriots’ quarterback.
“Bruh.. I still can’t believe I shook @TomBrady hand today and had a lil conversation with him,” Mixon tweeted after New England bested Cincinnati by a 34-13 score. “I ain’t gone lie I wanted to ask for his jersey but was too scared to ask.”
The tweet — and the fandom of an up-and-coming NFL star 19 years his junior — compelled Brady to send a TB12 jersey Mixon’s way.
For his efforts, Brady, in need of some good press amid a rough second half of the season and another Patriots cheating scandal, is likely to get a collectible of his own: Mixon, 75 rushing yards short of a second straight 1,000-yard season, planned to send a jersey of his own to Foxboro.
It’s the latest example of rising NFL stars paying their respects to the six-time Super Bowl winner, following Ravens QB Lamar Jackson telling Brady he’s “The GOAT” after their Week 9 matchup.
