Bill Belichick is on to … wherever the hell he wants to go next. Don’t tell him what to do.
The surly, iconoclastic Patriots coach is setting his own schedule at the NFL meetings in Florida, hanging with rock stars when he isn’t turning his back on Roger Goodell … and would you get these dang microphones out of his personal space?
According to the Boston Herald, Belichick walked out of a hotel banquet room just as commissioner Roger Goodell — a foe of the Patriots throughout the Deflategate saga, and the embodiment of the NFL central authority that Belichick seems to detest — was getting ready to make a speech to coaches and owners on Sunday. The Providence Journal said Belichick instead headed for the resort.
When it came time Monday for the annual photo shoot featuring all of the NFL’s head coaches, Belichick was again playing hooky (three others bailed — see if you can figure out who):
So what’s this American badass doing instead? Besides figuring out how to go 12-4 again. Well, for one thing, hanging out with his girlfriend, Linda Holliday, and Kid Rock.
