The Cowboys’ chaotic start to their NFL season could soon lead to some players being sent packing.

NFL Network reports the Cowboys (2-5) have put defensive end Everson Griffen on the trade market ahead of next Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. Defensive tackle Dontari Poe and cornerback Daryl Worley are also on the block, according to Sports Illustrated.

All three players are in their first season with Dallas. Griffen, 32, was a four-time Pro Bowler during his 10-year run with the Vikings, including a Pro Bowl nod last season, but he has not been a fit after joining the Cowboys on a one-year, $6 million deal. He has 2.5 sacks through seven games.

“I don’t think the Cowboys want to trade me. I haven’t heard that,” Griffen told former ESPN reporter Josina Anderson.

The 30-year-old Poe was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Chiefs in 2013 and ’14. He signed a two-year, $8.5 million deal with Dallas after a two-year stint with the Panthers. Worley, 25, signed a one-year, $3 million deal with Dallas during the offseason after spending the last two seasons with the Raiders, for whom he started 15 games in 2019.

Mike McCarthy, in his first year as the Cowboys’ head coach, is already under fire after anonymous players ripped the coaching staff for being unprepared. Dallas lost star quarterback Dak Prescott to a season-ending ankle injury and lost backup Andy Dalton on Sunday to a concussion, which happened on a dirty hit that none of Dalton’s teammates bothered to cause a stink about after it happened.

Despite all the turbulence, the Cowboys are just a half-game back of the division lead in a weak NFC East, currently led by the 2-4-1 Eagles. Washington is also 2-5 and the Giants are 1-6.
