Daniel Jones capped off a memorable year with his No. 1 fan.
Ella Bonafede, the girlfriend of the Giants rookie quarterback, shared a photo on Instagram of the pair ringing in 2020 together.
“To good views in 2020,” Bonafede captioned the image, which featured the New York skyline in the background.
Bonafede has been a prominent presence at Giants games this year, as Jones completed his first season under center with 24 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and an 87.7 passer rating.
Selected sixth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jones became an integral part of the Giants core as Eli Manning’s successor. Jones is expected to begin his sophomore season as the starter but will do so without head coach Pat Shurmur, who was fired on Monday after two years.
“I’m grateful to him for the opportunity. I think he’s an excellent football coach. The players are very, very largely responsible for how this season has gone. I certainly feel responsible, and I think that’s the tough part,” Jones said of Shurmur earlier this week.
The Giants are expected to interview former Packers coach Mike McCarthy this weekend and Baylor coach Matt Rhule is one of the favorites for the job.
