The Post’s Drew Loftis evaluates all the relevant fantasy football news ahead of Week 3 of the 2020 NFL season.
Big Weeks
Mitchell Trubisky QB, Bears, at Falcons (FanDuel $7,500/DraftKings $5,700)
Don’t laugh. Well, OK, laugh, but laugh at the Falcons’ defense, not Trubisky. In two games, Atlanta has given up 78 points, 772 passing yards, four passing TDs and three rushing TDs by QBs, and has zero interceptions.
Joshua Kelley RB, Chargers, vs. Panthers (FD $5,900/DK $5,000)
The Panthers have given up nearly 20 PPR fantasy points more to RBs this season than any other team. Kelley is getting nearly as many touches as Austin Ekeler.
Allen Lazard WR, Packers, at Saints (FD $5,600/DK $4,800)
With Davante Adams looking unlikely to play, Aaron Rodgers will need someone to target. We got Lazard over Marquez Valdes-Scantling, because MVS likely will line up opposite Marshon Lattimore more often.
Mitchell Trubisky and Nick ChubbGetty Images (2)Mecole Hardman WR, Chiefs, at Ravens (FD $5,200/DK $4,200)
We don’t want to have to regularly trust feast-or-famine options like Hardman, but in a game we expect to have a lot of points, and matched up most often with Marlon Humphrey, we are willing to roll the dice on him this week.
Small Weaks
Nick Chubb RB, Browns, vs. Washington (FD $7,800/DK $6,900)
The Football Team has been stingier against opposing fantasy RBs than any other, except the Ravens. Likely can’t sit him in seasonal leagues, but should avoid for DFS cash contents.
Leonard Fournette RB, Buccaneers, at Broncos (FD $6,400/DK $6,200)
Not a great matchup, unlike last week. And though we expect Fournette to take over this backfield eventually, Ronald Jones has not disappeared quite yet.
Devin Singletary RB, Bills, vs. Rams (FD $5,900/DK $4,900)
The Rams have been solid vs. RBs in terms of yardage, which is where Singletary scores his fantasy points. With no Zack Moss, some could be tempted to use Singletary expecting more red zone carries, but we suggest a suitable alternative if you have one.
Robert Woods WR, Rams, at Bills (FD $6,600/DK $6,100)
He could be shadowed by Tre’Davious White, which would not be good for Woods’ fantasy prospects. And let’s say, we’re not buying resurgent Rams offense quite yet.
