Brett Favre’s wife, Deanna, defended her husband after the Jets quarterback was blitzed this week by the media after a phone conversation he had with Lions’ officials before Detroit played the Packers.

Deanna wrote about the issue on the Favre family blog.

“Over the past couple of weeks, my heart has been very heavy,” Deanna wrote. “I have stood by…silently… watching the media continually attack my husband…Certainly, having been in public life for 18 years, this is not new to us. However, this latest round of media scrutiny has been harder, more disheartening and seemingly unending.”

In his media session, Bret admitted to talking to than Lions general manager Matt Millen.

“Over the past weeks, we have been deeply affected by the various media reports and accusations that have unfairly questioned Brett’s loyalty, fairness and character,” Deanna wrote.
