This will take time getting used to.
Moments after ESPN reported Tuesday that Tom Brady was “expected” to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Madden NFL video game series tweeted photoshopped footage showing the legendary 42-year-old quarterback wearing his new team’s uniform.
Brady spent 20 years with the Patriots, a dominant partnership that ended early Tuesday when the six-time Super Bowl winner announced he would be signing elsewhere as a free agent.
Tampa Bay emerged as the favorite to secure Brady as Tuesday went along.
The deal, which has not yet been announced, is believed to be worth up to $30 million, which would put Brady among the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL.
Brady will be 43 when he makes his debut for the offensively explosive Buccaneers, though it remains to be seen whether the coronavirus will push back the start of the season as the virus has delayed other professional sports leagues.
The NFL already has delayed the start of training camp this summer because of the virus.
