As if four losses in six games isn’t bad enough, Seahawks running back Fred Jackson crashed his black Corvette after pulling out of the team facility at a high speed and misjudging a turn, according to CBS Sports.
An earlier report by TMZ stated Jackson had lost control of his car during a drag race after practice with teammate Marshawn Lynch.
Renton police spokesman David Liebman said an investigation scuttled the drag racing theory.
“There is no evidence he was drag racing anyone,” he told the Seattle Times. “He was leaving the facility, and he was clearly driving too fast when he hit a street sign.”
Jackson did not suffer injuries and left the scene unscathed with Seattle team staffers after his car was towed away.
The incident comes days after Seattle fullback Derrick Coleman was suspended by the team stemming from a hit-and-run arrest.
