Of the 12 undrafted free agents the Giants are expected to bring in, one, DT Nate Robinson, is a prospect with local ties.
Robinson, from Irvington, N.J., signed to play at Miami (Fla.) but his grades couldnât get him past the admissions process and he went to Rutgers. After two years he was dismissed from the team and landed at Akron.
Some of the other free agents expected to sign with the Giants or be invited to the May 9, 10 and 12 rookie mini-camp:
S Nehemiah Warrick (Michigan State), DE Wallace Gillberry (Alabama), DE Antonio Reynolds (Tennessee), OL Glenn Bujnoch (Cincinnati), G-C Andrew Bain (Miami), OT Dylan Thiry (Northwestern), WR D.J. Hill (Alabama), OT Carnell Stewart (LSU).
