The entire Vikings fan base may loathe kicker Blair Walsh, but at least his girlfriend has his back.

After missing a 27-yard field goal in the final seconds of Sunday’s frigid wild-card game against Seattle, the Minnesota faithful immediately took to social media to lash out over the miffed punt. Fortunately for Walsh, his TV reporter gal pal, Sarah Chaffee, quickly chimed in to silence the haters.

“Vikings were not in a position to win the game without Blair Walsh, keep in mind he scored every point today. Also handled himself with class,” she tweeted.

Though Walsh certainly will stew over the 10-9 heartbreaker for the better part of the offseason, his girlfriend isn’t the only supporter in his corner. From former wide receiver Greg Jennings to Walsh’s sister, Sarah Colonna, who happens to be the fiancée of Seattle punter Jon Ryan, supporters are stepping up to comfort him.

If you're a Vikings fan and giving the kicker a hard time, pls note he's the only reason they had any points. I hate people.

You know he scored the only points they had right? https://t.co/hBdl5mciVG

I hope they leave Walsh alone cuz realistically he was one of the main reasons they had points

God bless you, @BlairWalsh3! You were always a great teammate and guy to me, while in MN! For that you have my support! Better days ahead!

Not that most NFL fans care, but Blair Walsh is one of the nicest and most well liked people in the Vikings locker room. #HesHuman

Perhaps the most encouraging response of all came from former teammate Nate Burleson, who posted a lengthy note on Instagram.

“To @blairwalsh_3 I know today seems like a dark day in your athletic career but you will bounce back better & stronger from this brotha. You have kicked game winners before and you will make game winners in the future,” Burleson wrote alongside a snap of Walsh. “Not to mention you were a huge part of why the Vikes were in the game with 3 field goals so hold your head high.”
