ALBANY — Two state lawmakers are sending NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell a letter demanding minimum wage and full employee status for teams’ cheerleaders.
Assemblywoman Nily Rozic of Queens and Sen. Diane Savino of Staten Island will join Lacy T., who cheered for the Oakland Raiders for one season earning a mere $2,500, at a press conference Wednesday. Lacy sued the franchise and won.
“We expect clubs to comply with federal and state wage laws, including minimum wage,” Brian McCarthy, a spokesman for the NFL, said.
