Hero
He may not have put up his usual eye-popping stat line, but Peyton Manning was brilliant once again Sunday afternoon. He seemed to always choose correctly — whether to go pass or run — each time he stepped to the line, and finished with 237 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
Zero
The Jets’ running backs — Chris Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell — combined for just 20 rushing yards on 13 carries, turning Gang Green’s offense into a one-dimensional attack — one the Broncos were, more often than not, able to slow down.
Unsung hero
Rookie tight end Jace Amaro finished the game with season highs of 10 catches and 68 yards, plus a nice touchdown catch — his first — on a fade route in the first quarter to give the Jets an early 7-3 lead.
By the numbers
31: Rushing yards for the Jets, the fewest they have had in a game since Rex Ryan became head coach in 2009.
Quote of the day
“Do you see my face? It’s frustrated, right? That’s all you need to know. It’s frustrating to lose. I’m not a loser, none of us are losers, so losing is frustrating.” — Sheldon Richardson
