It’s only June, but the Jets have some mounting injuries.

Cornerback Morris Claiborne has a bruised hand, according to coach Todd Bowles. Claiborne watched Tuesday’s OTA practice out of uniform and with a cast on his left hand/wrist. Bowles said Claiborne is “supposed to be” ready for training camp at the end of July.

Wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, who has not been a participant in any OTAs, watched on Tuesday with a walking boot on his right foot. Bowles confirmed Pryor recently underwent a cleanup procedure on his right ankle. That is the same ankle that Pryor had surgery on in November when he was a member of the Redskins.

“It will be close,” Bowles said when asked if Pryor will be ready for training camp. “We’ll see when it gets closer.”

Outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins did not take part in team drills for the second straight week. Bowles said last week that Jenkins was just “nicked up” and it did not sound serious. But Bowles was unwilling to say that Jenkins will be ready for training camp on Tuesday.

“We’ll see. That’s the best I can say,” Bowles said.

Wide receiver Robby Anderson did not practice either on Tuesday. Bowles said Anderson was just sore from the OTA practices.

Anderson declined to speak to reporters in the locker room. He has not spoken to the media since he was arrested in January.

On the good-news front, center Spencer Long participated in team drills for the first time in an OTA that was open to the media. He had been dealing with a thigh injury from last season.

The Jets finish OTAs this week and have their mandatory minicamp next week.

Bowles lit into the team toward the end of practice. It was unclear what fired up the coach. It came during a period when the Jets were working on specific situations, like the end of a game or a half and winning or losing by a certain amount of points. Bowles seemed to feel the Jets were not grasping the situation.

“It was just situational football,” Bowles said. “It’s a time we learn. It’s a time we teach. It was just one of those times.”

The Jets cut DL Claude Pelon and signed DL Chris Jones, who has played for the Patriots, Dolphins and 49ers.

According to ESPN, the Jets will sign safety J.J. Wilcox, a five-year veteran who spent last season with the Steelers.
