Johnny Manziel’s free fall continues unabated.
Drew Rosenhaus became the second agent since February to drop the troubled quarterback when Rosenhaus announced Tuesday he was cutting ties with Manziel for not seeking drug or alcohol treatment.
Rosenhaus said last week he was giving the former Browns first-round pick five days to enter rehab or face being let go by the super-agent.
Manziel was spotted attending the Coachella festival instead, just days after Page Six reported he allegedly inflicted $32,000 worth of damage on a Los Angeles crash pad while leaving behind drugs and drug paraphernalia.
NFL agents rarely fire clients, especially with a public statement, but Manziel has now been axed by two prominent agents — Rosenhaus and Erik Burkhardt — in less than three months while also being released by the Browns in March.
Both agents released statements saying that Manziel’s hard-partying ways and refusal to seek treatment made it impossible to represent him. Manziel’s father also told the Dallas Morning News in February that his 23-year-old son “won’t live to see his 24th birthday” without an intervention.
Manziel also faces legal trouble. Dallas prosecutors said Tuesday they will present the family violence case against Manziel to a grand jury on Thursday, with a decision expected Monday.
Manziel is accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend during a night out in January. The ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, said Manziel forced her to stay in his car against her will, then hit her so hard, she temporarily lost hearing in one ear.
