A Dallas County grand jury has indicted Johnny Manziel on a misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charge, according to a Dallas radio station.

The free-agent quarterback is accused of hitting ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley in late January in suburban Dallas and will now face charges after the grand jury reviewed evidence of the case Thursday, according to KRLD-AM.

The troubled former Brown, who has been dropped by two agents over the past three months, had reached an out-of-court settlement with Crowley, the report stated. The terms of the agreement were not revealed.

Manziel is barred from seeing Crowley until at least Feb. 3, 2018, the report states, per a protective order. This follows the early morning of Jan. 30, when, according to police documents, Manziel forced Crowley into a car, struck her in the ear — causing temporary hearing loss — and dragged her by the hair while the pair was traveling from Dallas to Crowley’s home in nearby Fort Worth.
