Here’s some of what Kellen Clemens had to say to the media about Jay Cutler today, courtesy of the New York Jets: On if he feels the need to get clarification regarding Jay Cutler situation…

I have not approached them about it. On the one side there is the business aspect of it and both Coach Ryan and Mr. Tannenbaum are going to make a decision at the end of the day that they feel is best for the organization. Obviously, I have my personal opinion on what they should do, but that does not rank up there too high just yet. I question how much good it would to go in there and say ‘hey, what is the situation?’ Because it could change.

On if he feels like he deserves an explanation…

Last year when the whole Brett Favre thing started going Mr. Tannenbaum called both Chad (Pennington) and I in and said, ‘Look this is the situation, we have contacted him. Up to this point it is not going to go any further than that.’ He was very open and very honest with us. My relationship hasn’t changed and if something comes up, he is going to probably visit with us about it. We trust them in their decisions.

On if the Jay Cutler situation affects his outlook…

It’s going to have a direct effect on me, possibly, however it all shakes out. I try not to let it affect me right now and the preparation that I am doing because the whole thing might blow over and he (might) go somewhere else. All three of us are still here and we go forward. You don’t want to lose these days of preparation worrying about hypotheticals.
