With Kris Jenkins out for the season with the torn ACL in his left knee and Calvin Pace still shelved with his broken foot, the Jets had former Ravens and Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas in the building for a visit today.

But Thomas, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Post, will not be signed at this time.

Rex Ryan did, however, say that he was “definitely considering” signing a veteran defensive lineman to help depth.

With the Jets playing with only three natural wide receivers on their roster and their offense already in a funk, Rex Ryan strongly hinted today that they’ll re-sign Laveranues Coles this week. Don’t be surprised to see Coles in practice Wednesday when the players reconvene.

Coles, who spent the entire training camp with the team, was released before the start of the season so the Jets wouldn’t have to guarantee his entire 2010 salary. When Coles re-signs, instead of making the required veteran minimum of $855,000 he’ll make a little more than $50,000 per week.

The Jets, of course, are without Santonio Holmes for another three games while he serves his substance abuse suspension and Mark Sanchez completed just three passes to wide receivers Monday night.

The Jets, who are playing with only three natural WRs on their roster, re-signed David Clowney. To make room for Clowney, the Jets released RB Danny Woodhead.
