Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey revealed Monday that he has tested positive for the coronavirus, one day after playing in Baltimore’s loss to Pittsburgh.

“I got the Rona hopefully I’ll be back healthy soon,” Humphrey tweeted Monday morning. Humphrey also retweeted a GIF posted by teammate Patrick Ricard depicting the character Sheldon Cooper from “The Big Bang Theory” spraying disinfectant around his apartment.

Humphrey, who sat out a practice last Wednesday with what the team described as an “illness,” is one of the league’s top cornerbacks. Humphrey signed a five-year, $97.5 million contract extension with $66 million guaranteed last month.

Steelers tight end Eric Ebron reacted to the news by posting a photo on Twitter of Humphrey trying to tackle him during Sunday’s game with the caption, “this was not 6ft.”

Humphrey wasn’t the only NFL player who dressed Sunday to test positive. Green Bay rookie running back AJ Dillon also reportedly tested positive after playing 17 snaps (10 on offense, seven on special teams) in the Packers’ loss to Minnesota, NFL Network reported. Due to the league’s COVID-19 protocols, Dillon will miss Thursday’s game against San Francisco.

Those two positives were the only ones to come out of testing, NFL Network reported. However, the Browns did hold their Monday meetings virtually after a player displayed symptoms.

Arizona linebacker Devon Kennard, who played for the Giants from 2014-17, also announced on Twitter that he has tested positive. The Cardinals had their bye in Week 8.

“I learned that like many others, I have tested positive for Covid 19. Thankfully, I feel completely normal so far,” Kennard wrote. “Please keep my family & I in your prayers as we navigate this. I look forward to being back on the field w/my teammates as soon as I am cleared & it’s safe to do so!”

The NFL sent a memo to teams last week recommending “clubs enhance their efforts to ensure physical distancing on the sidelines during games.” Players not in the game were asked to wear masks on the sidelines, although that recommendation didn’t appear to be closely followed across the league.
