Imagine if Mike Francesa had traded in his headset for, well, a different headset.

The WFAN afternoon host mentioned on his show Wednesday afternoon he once was offered a job by an NFL team, but opted not to take it.

“I would have had to take a pay cut to take the job I was offered,” Francesa said. “If I had done it, I think I would have done well in the NFL, but at the time I decided to stay here.”

Francesa did not specify beyond the quick mention what team made the offer or for what role, but until recently he did have a close relationship with former Giants and Jets coach Bill Parcells.
