Mike Francesa must always have the last word.

The feud between the WFAN host and Giants head coach Pat Shurmur – which resulted in the team cancelling Shurmur’s weekly radio segment last week – continued to simmer when Shurmur snuck one final comment on the situation during his postgame press conference Sunday.

Francesa, who had ripped the second-year coach over how bad the Giants looked in their 0-2 start, claimed that with Shurmur opting out of his radio show, there will be “few places where he will be asked a tough question.”

Following the Giants’ exhilarating 32-31 victory over the Buccaneers, Shurmur told reporters: “By the way, you guys ask me a lot of hard questions. Don’t let anybody say you don’t.”

“I’m sure Coach Shurmur thinks they are all hard questions,” Francesa wrote Monday on Twitter. “As he found yesterday, a lot easier to answer when he wins. He is welcome back any time. Winning makes everybody less sensitive.”

Francesa has been extremely critical of the Giants early this season, from his disappointment in the organization’s decision to draft recently promoted quarterback Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick to the front office’s silence during the quarterback transition from Eli Manning.
