Jets quarterback Zach Wilson and his mom Lisa reminisced about the moment New York selected him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Thursday night, when this year’s draft kicked off in Las Vegas.
Lisa — who rose to internet fame when fans fell in love with her bubbly personality and sparkling style last year — took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of her son holding his No. 1 Jets jersey with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on draft stage.
“Since he was a little boy, he told me he was going to play in the NFL,” Lisa wrote under the photo. “A lot of people doubted him. #ProvedThemWrong.”

The proud mom also celebrated the Jets’ No. 10 overall pick in wide receiver Garrett Wilson out of Ohio State, posting a video that showed Goodell announcing the pick.
The Jets made power moves Thursday in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In addition to [Garrett] Wilson, New York added an elite cornerback to their defense, scooping up Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner with the No. 4 overall pick, out of Cincinnati.
