Chad Pennington, the quarterback the Jets cast aside to make room for Brett Favre, said today he felt he was being pushed out as early as 2007 when Eric Mangini benched him in favor of Kellen Clemens. “My overall feel from the organization was my time was up,” Pennington told New York reporters in a conference call. “Wherever that came from, that’s the way I felt regardless of who was brought in to replace me.
“And I had had those feelings way before this year’s training camp. Those feeling started to come last year in the 2007 season. You just get a feeling as a human being. I felt that way since I was replaced in the 2007 season and that [my release] was a culmination of it.”
