The Jets and first-round pick defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson reached a four-year deal Saturday, according to a source.
Wilkerson, the 30th pick overall, is the fourth Jets draft pick to sign, leaving just two unsigned picks. The Jets report to training camp in Florham Park, N.J. on Sunday.
The Jets took Wilkerson in the April draft after he had 16 1/2 sacks in his final two years at Temple. The 6-foot-4, 315 pound Linden, New Jersey resident swas a second-team All-American last year.
“We think this young man is really going to do some great things for us,” coach Rex Ryan said on draft day.
ESPn draft analyst said of the pick, “You could make an argument this is the best pick of the first round.”
