Is a New York homecoming in the cards for Odell Beckham Jr.?
It doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility following comments made by the free-agent wide receiver in a conversation with Complex Sports, where Beckham name-dropped the Giants while discussing what he’s looking for in his next NFL landing spot.
“Whether it’s Buffalo, Green Bay calling, the Cowboys, reunion with the Giants, I want to be able to spill — not saying I’ve only got three or four left, but these next three to four years into something where I can buy a home, I can call this place home,” Beckham said.
The pursuit of Beckham’s services has been gaining steam in recent weeks as the three-time Pro Bowler readies for his NFL return after recovering from a torn ACL sustained in February’s Super Bowl.
The Giants, where Beckham began his NFL career as a first-round pick in 2014, are open to talking with the playmaker “when he’s healthy,” according to GM Joe Schoen, while the defending champion Rams have expressed interest in resigning Beckham, who landed in Los Angeles last fall.
Elsewhere, Bills linebacker Von Miller — who played with Beckham during the Rams’ championship run last season — has spent a decent portion of the year recruiting the receiver to Western New York.
Dallas appears to be the latest entrant in the Beckham sweepstakes, with NFL.com reporting Sunday that the wideout is “firmly on the Cowboys’ radar” and the team “is expected to be in the mix.”
Beckham is expected to be fully cleared by the end of this week, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported on Sunday.
Prior to joining the Rams midseason, Beckham played in six games for the Browns last year. He was traded to Cleveland in 2019 after signing a five-year, $95 million contract extension with the Giants in 2018.
