Bill Belichick is the third head coach in NFL history to reach 300 career regular-season wins following New England’s stunning 29-25 upset Sunday of the Buffalo Bills.
But in typical Belichick fashion, the eight-time Super Bowl winner was already moving on after the Patriots’ win.
“It’s great,” Belichick told reporters after the game, per NESN. “I’m really more focused on our team and this year. I’ll worry about that later. Thank you.”
The 71-year-old Belichick trails Don Shula (328) and George Halas (318) on the all-time list for regular-season victories by a head coach.
But including the playoffs, Belichick (331) is second to Shula (347).
Sunday’s win gets Belichick off the hot seat, as New England had been in panic mode over the Patriots’ 1-5 start.
But Belichick’s future seems secure in Foxborough with NFL Network reporting pregame that the long-time head coach quietly signed a lucrative, multi-year extension during the offseason.

Sunday’s trip to South Beach will be the Patriots’ second game this season against the Dolphins.
Belichick is second all-time with 331 career wins, including the playoffs. APMiami came to Gillette Stadium in Week 2 and beat New England, 24-17.
