Russell Wilson and his Seattle Seahawks linemen are primed for a new season.
Wilson, the elusive quarterback, signed a massive four-year, $140 million contract last week to make him the higest-paid player in the NFL.
To show his thanks to the massive men who got him there, he gave them a gift better than free shipping: Amazon stock. According to TMZ, Wilson spent $156,000 total on shares for his 13 offensive linemen.
“Every Sunday we go to battle together,” Wilson wrote to his teammates. “You sacrifice your physical and mental well-being to protect me, which in turn allows me to provide and care for my family.
“This does not go unnoticed and it is never forgotten.”
The stock is a forward-thinking gift, meant to help as the players eventually transition to post-football life.
“You have invested in my life,” his letter read, “this is my investment into yours.”
