Trevor Lawrence’s wife praised the rookie quarterback Monday after he wrapped up his first year with the Jaguars, a season filled with “lots of highs and lows.”

Taking to Instagram, Marissa Lawrence shared a collection of black-and-white photos of her postgame kiss with Lawrence from Sunday, when the Jaguars stunned the Colts with a season-ending 26-11 win.

“Wow.. what a year babe!! Lots of highs and lows. A lot of learning. A lot of growing. A lot of adversity and newness,” Marissa wrote. “But there was also a lottt of good… good friendships.. Good memories.”

Lawrence, the first-overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, struggled in his first season, throwing 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 17 games. Beyond the field, the Jaguars organization was also marred by controversy following misstep after misstep from first-year coach Urban Meyer.

In October, Meyer was filmed dancing at an Ohio bar with a woman who was not his wife. Later into the season, a damning NFL.com report alleged that the former Ohio State coach had belittled his assistants.

The straw that appeared to break the camel’s back, however, came in December, when former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo claimed that Meyer had kicked him during an August practice. Meyer was swiftly fired after the Tampa Bay Times report detailing Lambo’s account was published.

Darrell Bevell, the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator, was later named interim head coach and will interview for the full-time job. Jaguars brass has already spoken to former Lions coach Jim Caldwell and former Eagles coach Doug Pederson about the vacancy.

Marissa added Monday that the adversity Lawrence, 22, endured this year has made him stronger.

“You are and always will be the most amazing person I know. The way you handle things and do it with so much grace and love will always inspire me,” she continued.

Marissa concluded her post by noting how excited she is about his sophomore season.

“I’m thankful for this team, this season & an amazing last game of your rookie year! Year two we are ready,” she wrote.

The Lawrences tied the knot in April 2021, weeks before he was drafted by Jacksonville.
