The investigation into the assault allegations against Johnny Manziel appears to be picking up.

Dallas police obtained medical records for Colleen Crowley, who accused Manziel of hitting her and threatening to kill her during an attack on Jan. 29-30, according to ESPN.

Crowley’s attorney, Kathy Kinser, said the Browns quarterback hit his ex-girlfriend on the side of her face, rupturing her left eardrum, and a source told ESPN that she is still unable to hear out of that ear.

“They expect [her ear] to heal, but it’ll take awhile,” Kinser told NBC 5 last week.

The severity of the injuries could determine what charges are brought against Manziel. If convicted of aggravated assault — a felony — Manziel could face two to 20 years in prison.

Crowley, who dated Manziel for two years before breaking up recently, was said to be uncooperative with cops, but then laid out the details of the harrowing night in an affidavit for a protection order.

The Browns have signaled their intent to release Manziel on March 9 at the start of the new league year.
