If Rob Ryan wants to be an NFL head coach, he’s going to have to lose the pot belly and wild mane of hair. At least, that’s what his brother thinks.

At the NFL owners meetings in Arizona, Rex Ryan, who will coach the Bills this season after spending six seasons in New York, lamented that his brother — currently the defensive coordinator of the Saints — doesn’t feel compelled to change his appearance.

“He won’t get his hair cut and is keeping that belly,” Rex said, according to Fox Sports. “[He said] ‘I’m gonna be a head coach and do it my way.’ [And I said], ‘No you’re not.’ It’s unfortunate. I’m still trying to get that message across to him.”

Rex may have a point. His brother has enjoyed success as a defensive coordinator in Oakland, Cleveland, Dallas and now New Orleans, but no longer seems to be garnering interest as a head-coaching candidate.
