Rob Gronkowski has joined Fox as an NFL studio analyst, the network confirmed.

Gronkowski, the future Hall of Fame tight end, will initially appear on Fox’s studio shows, beginning Thursday night prior to his old team the Patriots playing against the Giants.

The move doesn’t eliminate Gronkowski, 30, from returning to the NFL. Last year, Jason Witten was in ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” booth and this year he is back playing. However, Gronkowski is expanding his post-playing career portfolio, which already includes work with a CBD company.

The NFL Network first reported the Gronkowski news.

Fox could use Gronkowski in a variety of roles. It just launched its WWE Friday night series “SmackDown.” Gronkowski has appeared at WrestleMania and would seem a natural fit to do more wrestling work.

The initial move, though, is about putting Gronkowski on TV as an NFL analyst. He will begin in studio, though it is possible he could work on some games.
